About
Nz'r = mORE THAN A TITLE
The Igbo title Nz'r (nZer) is given to one who embodies the spirit of the ancestors and serves as a moral guide to his community. Nz'r Remy Ilona accomplishes this as an Igbo emissary sharing Omenana-authentic Israelite culture as preserved by the Igbo people-with the world. He engages diverse Jewish and Israelite communities globally with insights from Omenana that deepen the understanding of Torah and testify to the antiquity Israel's unique traditions.
Remy is passionate about reconnecting Igbo Diasporas in the Americas and the Caribbean to Omenana. With scholarship that spans law, history, religion, ethnography, national identity and more, Nz'r Remy Ilona is the ideal guest lecturer for colleges and universities, community and cultural organizations and congregations who seek to address a variety of contemporary issues from the Igbo/Israelite lens.
